Performers: Northern String Quartet
Programme:
Spring (La primavera)
I. Allegro – Birds chirping and brooks flowing, interrupted by sudden thunder.
II. Largo e pianissimo sempre – A sleeping shepherd with his barking dog.
III. Allegro pastorale – A rustic country dance.
Summer (L'estate)
I. Allegro non molto – Languishing heat and bird calls, followed by a threatening storm.
II. Adagio e piano – Presto e forte – Resting flies and gnats amid distant thunder.
III. Presto – A fierce summer thunderstorm and hail.
Autumn (L'autunno)
I. Allegro – Peasant harvest celebration and drinking.
II. Adagio molto – Drunkards falling asleep in the breeze.
III. Allegro – The hunt with horns and barking dogs.
Winter (L'inverno)
I. Allegro non molto – Shivering and stamping in the icy wind.
II. Largo – Sitting quietly by the fire while rain falls outside.
III. Allegro – Walking carefully and slipping on ice.
Additional Information:
The venue is Wheelchair accessible.
Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer refunds. However, we’d be more than happy for you to use your ticket for another show.
Complimentary admission is available for carers accompanying a standard ticket holder. Appropriate identification must be presented.
Children under 12 can attend for free when accompanied by an adult holding a standard ticket.
